Kids Inspire is a Chelmsford based charity, which supports children, young people and families who may have suffered trauma, neglect or abuse to build relationships through therapy, opportunities, love and care. Kids Inspire also work in schools to help identify and address vulnerabilities in children, which might otherwise have gone undetected. Their work in the local community is extremely valuable and particular vital in the current economic climate.
The event will be held at local gym, Unique Results(Units 220 – 221, The Waterhouse Business Centre, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 2QE), and for 24 hours, 3 Stable bikes will be running, with bikers riding for predefined slots from 15 minutes, to as long as they can manage! The event is open to the public, and anyone who would like to jump on one of our exercise bikes can do so, by booking online. The form will be ready soon.
The equipment in use will cater for all ages and fitness levels, just so long as your legs are long enough to reach the pedals. The bikes include have the classic upright exercise bike, a re***bent bike, for those with back problems, and for the fitter among you, the Watt Bike, a model of exercise bike used by British Cycling, and our very Bradley Wiggins!
A running tally of how many miles each person has traveled and in what time will be recorded, at the end of the event we will announce what distance has been reached overall by all the participant's efforts combined.
There will also be a plethora of fitness challenges to keep the people who aren't cycling occupied and excited, from plank challenges, to press up competitions, anyone can take part!
Tasty homemade food and drinks, sweet and savoury treats alike will be provided by TTC wetranslate Ltd and some rather delicious Organo Gold coffee will be provided by the Unique Results team. No fixed prices, all we ask for is a small donation for our very worthwhile charities.
Providing the musical nourishment for the duration of the event, will be some of Chelmsford's hottest DJs, including Irie Firat (Bassment), AP- 1 (Intense Records) and Monk3Y (Electric Plums), to keep the bikers and attendees entertained alike. No fixed music policy, so anything goes. Come and give them your requests and make a donation to our charities! We are all very excited to hear what our very talented DJs have in store for us.
After the success of last year's Bikeathon Challenge, organised by TTC's sister company Lumbooja, everyone at TTC and Unique Results is very excited about the event. Lumbooja comfortably raised £1200 for City of Chelmsford Mencap, and with our experience from last year's event, and joining forces with Unique Results, thus doubling our manpower, we have set this year's target at £2500.
